N E W S L E T T E R

As I look out my window I cannot help but notice the season changing once again. Can you believe it’s October already? We are well into the festive season and holidays are right around the corner. I’m sure you have all noticed the holiday decorations starting to appear which means our main season is upon us....WINTER! There are great things that come with winter; religious festivals, delicious sweets and of course travel to all corners of the world.  I have just a few items of interest that I would like to bring to your attention:

Professional Developments

That reminds me to keep all informed that OTOAI is spreading its wings not only to all corners of India; but it has been successful in nestling in places like the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Philippines, Thailand, Macau, Dubai, Uzbekistan, Scotland, Indonesia and Nepal.  All this had been made possible because we uniquely leverage the collective strength of everyone who benefits from travel to grow their business beyond what they can do individually. 

The mission of OTOAI is to unite all travel related companies and advocate for those professionals to ensure quality in the travel arena. OTOAI wishes to make its logo as a seal of trust to be displayed as a QUALITY MARK GUARANTEE and also represent its members.

Meetings/Event information

During the 1^st OTOAI Members Meet at Hotel Sheraton on 6^th July 2012, the members and VIP’s and guests deliberated on and approved our mission, vision, goals and core values of the association.

To quote a few of achievements of OTOAI in brief in a nutshell during the past few months:

·        Given wide publicity to OTOAI at OTM Travel Show with at least        

200 plus travel companies showing keen interest in joining OTOAI

·      MACAU Tourism Board, PHILIPPINES Tourism Marketing Office, CANADIAN Tourism Commission, THAILAND Tourism Authority joining OTOAI as NTO MEMBERS.

·       Numerous overseas travel related companies/firms have joined OTOAI as OVERSEAS MEMBERS.

·        The Dubai Road Show was attended OTOAI Members on 9^th Feb at Park Hotel.

·       SATTE Meet from 10^th to 12^th Feb. held at New Delhi Pragati Maidan was also attended by OTOAI Members

·    Product Training Session organized by OTOAI on 3^rd August 2012 for LONDON & PARTNERS at Habitat World.

·       OTOAI stalls at IT&CM stall, Greater Noida and at IITM, Gurgaon were a great success.

·        Most of the OTOAI members on special invitation from PHILIPPINES Government attend the PATA Travel Mart 2012 at Milan from 24^th September to 28^th September 2012.

·     1^st convention – date between 7 – 12 October keeping in view the festive season.

·         5^th October PATA – INDIA Road Show @ SYDNEY

·         9^th October – MOT Road Show @ ISTANBUL

·         11^th October – MOT Road Show @ ANKARA

·         14^th October – MOT Road Show @ MUSCAT

·         17^th to 19^th October – ITB ASIA @ SINGAPORE

Membership

OTOAI Membership is open to all companies/firms who are engaged in outbound travel, transportation, lodging and associated professions.  The Executive Committee aims to make OTOAI one of the largest associations nationally by creating attractive memberships from all over the world. To create a setting where members can freely discuss industry topics, learn about trends and learn through interaction with other members.  Memberships are of the following types: i) Active, ii) Allied, iii) OVERSEAS – DMC / SUPPLIERS / TOUR OPERATORS, iv) NTO – National Tourism Office / Board and v) Honorary.  Applications:  Any travel related company desiring to become a member of the Association must apply on forms approved and supplied by OTOAI.  Application must be accompanied by the admission fee (one time payment) and annual fee along with all desired documents as mentioned in the membership form.
